FINAL DAY FOR FUNDING

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. Every donation will help makes this project a real success. For those who haven't donated yet our deadline is midnight tonight! Please consider making a donation and receiving one of our fab perks.

Thanks,

Dan.

Raven Waiting is a fantasy adventure film being made in the UK. Dan Rowbottom is the Director and brains behind ‘Raven Waiting’. He created the cult comics ‘The Bread Monkey Mask’, ‘Hypno-squirrels’,'The Dog from the Future’,'Mooples without Scruples’ and many others. His inspiration for Raven Waiting comes from his love of films like ‘The Dark Crystal’, ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ and ‘Brazil’.

The film has so far been developed on a very small amount of resources and some kind donations. In order to actually film the project we are seeking £5000 for the production. All money donated will contribute to the production with everyone involved giving their time for free.

We've also got 2 days booked in for filming during the funding campaign and as funder you'll be able to see our progress online.

Rowbot Street CIC is the company behind the project. The company works in the North West of the UK developing film projects with young people and the community. As with all Rowbot Street's projects, Raven Waiting will give opportunities and hands on experience to those living in the area as well as the internet community who have been a fantastic help so far.

Set within the confines of a decaying dickensian town, ‘Raven Waiting’ is a fantasy adventure film about fear of the unknown. The town is encircled by a large wall, built up over the years, which protects the inhabitants from the evil beyond.

Within the town, our hero Juliette learns that her grandfather has died and left her a curious book shop. When she arrives at the book shop she discovers her grandfather was part of a secret society of creatures that protect the town. Now she must decide is she with the protectors or the townspeople.

Over the last 2 years the film has been developed from an idea into a full script and from there into concept art, storyboards and animatics. Around the start of the year we moved from development into full pre-production.

Many of the costumes are now complete with only background characters still to finish. Our workshop studio has been completely re-designed and we now have a small studio space with backdrop, suitable for filming a wide variety of footage for the film. The bookstore is one of the major sets for the film and is about half constructed.

By the summer (2012) we'll be ready for filming and that's why we've launched this campaign to ask for your support, to help make it happen. Without this funding campaign we really wont be able to make the project at all.

Subscribe to our newsletter at www.ravenmovie.co.uk to be kept informed of the projects progress.

On the right hand side you'll find some exciting rewards for your donation. As well as the movie itself there's also a comic book in development and a making of book which will feature all the artwork you see here and many more images, as well as in depth information of the creation of the film.

We are working on turning one of the existing sculptures created for the film (pictured below) into a limited edition sculpt. This will be available to all donations of £250 or more.

Our top reward includes everything else in the rewards list and a soldier costume from the film. These brilliant costumes are hand finished and distressed.

Whilst the film is being made in the UK it will be released worldwide and we welcome donations from all over the world.

A big thank you to everyone who has supported the project!

The final week
Tuesday, 12 June, 2012 - 11:24

We are close to the end of our funding journey. It's been a lot of hard work (we all knew it would be), but incredibly rewarding. We've made so many contacts and the project has developed at a fantastic rate.

We've not hit our target yet but we're confident that we can get some more funding in these last few days. Please help spread the word to friends and family and anyone you think might listen. Every bit of help you can lend us can make the difference.

Don't forget to mention the perks, the DVD, the making of book, all these fantastic things could be yours, or your mates.

Cheers,

Dan.

Phew, we made it over the first £1000, brilliant! A huge thank you to everyone who's helped so far. The timescale is getting tighter but we feel we are getting there and we can do it.

Here's our latest video, featuring a look at the costumes:
