Our story, why this movie:
We, Job and Ellard, are two individuals who have been involved with the inspiring Young Friends of the Earth Europe (Young FoEE) network since its creation in 2007. This grassroots network of young people and youth organisations works collectively for social and environmental justice on a local, national, European and international level.
(This is us at the first Young FoEE meeting in Berlin, December 2007)
Over the years we have been part of some amazing moments. We have seen the impact young people can have, how their determination and passion for a just and sustainable future can spread and inspire so many others to think and act differently! So many people with so many stories, stories worth telling, stories that inspire, stories that need to be captured on film and shown on really big screens! And that's exactly what we want to do together with you by making a feature length documentary!
Portraying the network's diversity
Our aim is to make a documentary that is inspired by some of the young activists who have been involved with Young Friends of the Earth Europe, and use their stories to show the diversity of the environmental youth movement in Europe. We will travel across Europe to portray some of the people who have been or are involved in this network. We want to tell their stories, show how they contribute to change for a sustainable and just world in their daily lives. Their stories and our existing Young FoEE footage will form an hour length documentary that will be accessible and inspiring to a wider audience.
You can make this happen!
You are the key to the success of this movie! By backing this project you will contribute to the filming, editing, finishing and distribution of Job and Ellard’s documentary. Young FoEE celebrates its 5th birthday this year, so why not help us make this as the best birthday present for Young FoEE; a documentary about Young FoEE, and some of the young people who have been involved!
In return for your support we will organise an online launch party and more! So back this project now and see what we'll offer you in return.
We love green film festivals.
Making a documentary for the sake of making a documentary is not really the point! We want to get it out there into the world! That's why we will make a big effort to get the movie shown at at least five green film festivals across Europe, in that way we will make sure that loads of people will watch it. You can also organise your own screening. If you already think you'd like to organise a movie evening some time, somewhere (we love guerrilla screenings on buildings) please contact us at and we'll keep you posted.
Where your money goes
By sponsoring this project, you’ll be financing Job and Ellard to make the documentary over a six month period. Your support will help cover costs for the filming, renting equipment, making copies of the documentary, spreading the word, for travel, and for buying coffee to keep Ellard awake whilst editing.
Young Friends of the Earth Europe is a proud supporter of the documentary.
This is not a fundraising initiative by Young Friends of the Earth Europe, or a profit making initiative. All of the money raised will go directly to Job and Ellard to cover the costs of producing the documentary, and not to Young Friends of the Earth Europe.
