Good Intentions

Glasgow, GB

What is the story about?

Josh decides one day to do something more with his life, and becomes an active participant within the environmental movement. Forming a relationship with a feisty younger woman called Zara, his life soon becomes an exciting eco-political drama spanning over a decade.

Why make this film?

Combating climate change is one of the most important long-term challenges that we face today. We believe there is a story to be told about an ordinary (albeit quirky) guy who becomes frustrated with the apathy be sees around him and decides to try and make a real difference. However, this story does not intend to preach to anyone. Instead it follows one man's journey to do his part for the environment, presented as an entertaining, intelligent and balanced political satire. There is, in our opinion, a public appetite to see a bold, slick and often humorous film about tackling global warming head on. Something a little bit different, with a positive message. And where better to set most of our story than in Glasgow, Gaelic for 'Dear Green Place'?

Where & When will the film be shot?

Mostly in Glasgow over 16 days in late summer/early autumn 2013.

When will the film be completed?

Spring of 2014. Just in time to coincide with Glasgow's hosting of the Commonwealth Games.

Our "Green Screen" Policy

In keeping with the story's environmental subject matter, we will endeavour to ensure that the film is made with as little waste and CO2 emissions as possible. The filming of the funding trailers were produced in such a fashion, where for example car sharing was encouraged between cast, crew and production. In turn, this will also enable the film's relatively low budget to be kept in check.

Who is involved?

We have now assembled an experienced team of actors, crew and production team members, many of which were directly involved in producing the funding trailer above. Our team's enthusiasm, passion and commitment to the project is a testament to this...

Why are we are seeking crowd funding?

In a nutshell, we want to be able to pay everyone involved (at the very least expenses), and also enough funds to hire out any additional equipment/locations if required.

Realistically, the minimum overall budget required to make this feature film is £8,000.

Therefore, we require a crowd funding target of at least £3,000 to cover 50% of the feature film's “Production” costs of £6,000.

The campaign will run until 2nd February 2013.

All “Development”, “Pre-Production”, “Post-Production” and “Marketing” costs will be covered by the film's Writer/Producer/Director (as well as waiving any fee or personal expenses)

The remaining 50% of “Production” costs will be acquired from a mixture of further public and private sector investments. Our chances of acquiring this final amount will be substantially increased when we reach our initial crowd funding target of £3,000.

And finally....why should you fund our film?

Quite simply, if you have an interest in the future well being of our planet, want to be directly associated with a bold, slick and humourous drama full of interesting, well developed characters; then please contribute whatever you can afford towards our crowd-funding campaign, and help make this feature film happen.
