Staten completed the Emerging Producer course at the National Television and Film school in 2010, fellow alumni include Samantha Waite whose film Wish 143 was 2011 Oscar nominated for best Live Action short. Staten produced and acted in Drawn which was picked as one of the top 10 breakthrough films of the year by the Film Council for the London UK Film Focus and This Love - currently on the short film circuit after screening at Cannes Film Festival 2012 as part of the Short Film Corner.

Staten trained as an actor at East-15 Acting school.  He has appeared in numerous film, TV and stage shows including the award winning feature film Flip A Coin which won best comedy at the Brooklyn International Film Festival New York.  And, most recently, Strindberg’s The Father at the Belgrade Theatre. Television includes Channel 4’s Totally Frank, The Bill and Casualty.
