Puja Nights

"Puja Nights" is a hotly-tipped short film funded by Film London & Eastern Edge, supported by the BFI, the London Borough of Redbridge, Skillset and the Mayor of London's Office. It is produced, written and directed by a team of Londoners: Tanjil, Daniel, Izzy and Charlie.

Teenager Priya lives with her devout mother, Mrs Shah, in a suburban household that revolves around the worship of the ancient idols of Hinduism. But Priya longs for the glamour of Bollywood and - to her mother's dismay - worships only the comically dashing Indian action hero Cosmo Basmati. When Cosmo comes to town to promote his latest film, their conflicting attitudes come to a head. Is Priya's idol all she dreamt up to be?
