The Sunflowerchild Project

The Sunfowerchild Project will allow me studio time for 1year to produce new works and set that show on the road, bringing a high end fine art event to small towns, Villages & Village halls across the U.K and worldwide, for art lovers everywhere who don't normally get the chance to visit a big city to enjoy a cool show which engages with local communities & schools.

Arguably six years ago, but more intensely for the past year since it's inception "The Sunflowerchild project" has been my waking thought, my daily bread, and my bedtime rest.  Could it be done?  Is it possible?  It seems like this simple but captivating thought would not go away or leave me alone.

As my first show was at six years old I guess it's quite acceptable that I was born to be a painter, so it's what I do in life.   But surely it's what we do with what we do, that if there is love in it, can make a difference to the lives of many others, and to me a smile makes the world of difference to all humanity.

The question persistently knocking at my head is "Why is it always London & the world's large cities that get the big shows, the high end stuff, the smart exhibitions.  When many hundreds of thousands of people who love the arts and live in small towns and villages never get a chance to enjoy?"

The simple reply is "Bring the show to them."

The latter quarter of that year would involve engaging appropriate corporate sponsorship to put the show on the road.  Bringing a high end Fine Art Show to small towns, Villages, Village halls, across the country, worldwide, and who knows., even near you.

As an extra bonus for your like minded support, email in a photograph of you wearing special edition t-shirts, posterprints, badges etc, and we will add a thumbnail your name and  place to a large list of supporters to be shown at each and every exhibition venue.

ps. Pricing on the project collectables are largely dictated by the various merchandising companies, packaging, and postage. The funding target may seem a little high but it breaks down to no more than a Tradesman's weekly wage. Ray & I are a two man team so do please understand, and allow a reasonable amount of time to get your pre-orders to you wherever you are in the world.

And "Yes." It's true My partner, my darling Ray & I are engaged, and it would just put the cherry on top of the cake if we can dare to dream of making the project real, and also include what would be the most wonderful day of our live's by getting married. :-)   - Steven

At it's heart, I think of "The Sunflowerchild Project" like taking a Rockband on tour, or a small theatre company, only it's a fine art show. For adults it's about how fine art has magic in it, actually changing body ecology to one of "health, joy & the wellness of being." And for the kids it's simply about getting involved in real live painting sessions. having fun & trying it themselves .
