The Project
Saturday Soup is a dramatic triptych exploring, themes of Black food and London lives. Historically food has played a pivotal role in how people articulate themselves culturally, socially and nationally. Off The Wall Players will present three stimulating and dynamic pieces that open a debate around food, culture, identity and London lives.
Off The Wall Players are a small emerging theatre company and will be performing Saturday Soup in theatres and community spaces in Shoreditch, Hoxton, Islington and Lewisham. We aim to facilitate a non-hierachical dialogue between audience, performer and script. We will do this by incorperating interactive elements that will enable the exchange and development of ideas around food and Identity.
We hope that by sharing this experience, communities can build cohesion by understanding more about meanings behind their cultural simililarities and differences.
Some of the interactive elements we will incorperate will be:
-
A keynote speaker from the local community
-
A Q&A with the writer, director and cast
-
Caribbean food sampling session
-
Immersive audience seating plan

We have a range of gifts that we invite you to purchase. Please, look for a gift you can afford to buy. We would be most grateful for anything you are able to pledge to help make this show possible
