Salford Arts Theatre is the only independent theatre in Salford giving the local community and beyond an opportunity to experience theatre whether from an audience or participant point of view. It was purpose build in 1974 where it was home to The Salford Players, whose famous sons include Robert Powell, Albert Finney and Sir Ben Kingsley.
We encourage and support local talent giving them a platform to showcase their work offering the space at affordable costs enabling them to write, produce and perform.
We offer tuition for children and young people to engage in the arts of drama, dance and singing. These classes are not only an opportunity to learn performing arts but essessntial transferable social skills.
Part of the work we do is to offer the wider community theatre and the creative arts opportunities by going straight to them.
We have a wonderful space that is warm and welcoming and doesn't intimated those who use and visit but we are in need of some vital repairs to our external roof as well as the internal area whereby water has had an effect. This money would enable us to have our external work completed making sure we are fully watertight before the winter sets in. So please do support us making sure that all have equal opportunity to experience the creative arts.
