The money we hope to raise from your kind donation will go towards:
Equipment hire
We have access to some excellent equipment, but for the production values we aim to achieve it is not enough. We intend to hire out of a Canon C300 for the majority of the shoot, for its great low light capabilities and also for its log mode. Along with this essential camera we will need to hire a Camera Rig, a few lenses, an external monitor and some battery powered lighting for night time shooting.
Locations and Transport
Most of the filming will be done in cambridge where we are based, which will require minimum costs. But the location of the petrol station is in norwich and this will require significant costs covering transport. We will also need to cater for all the cast and crew, keeping everyone happy and giving it their all!
Production design and Costume.
Even though our film is in a contemporary setting, there will be significant costs in this department. we will need a make-up artist capable of performing prosthetic burns, all character wardrobes and everything necessary needed by our brilliant set designer to believably create our main character Aidan's burnt room from scratch. As well as set design for all other various locations.
We would love to hear from you, so should you have any questions you'd like to ask or if you would like to know more, please feel free to contact us:

More on Play With Fire
Play With Fire is a tale about a pyromaniac who is planning to burn down the petrol station he strangely managed to get a job in. His past unfolds through an unexpected meeting with his probation officer, Gary.
The story we will try to tell is a story about a man’s obsession. Aidan is an antihero that is ‘’charming’’ and interesting even though clearly dangerous. On the other hand Gary, his probation officer is the exact opposite, he seems wrong and corrupt but at the same time we cannot overlook the fact that he has chosen a job that serves the common good. His main aim is to prevent people from getting hurt by Aidan’s impulsiveness.
We feel that the subject matter of this film is very delicate, since dealing with addiction and people that are obsessed is an issue to raise awareness about. Addicted people are not to be isolated and stigmatised, they are people to be understood, tolerated and supported to win in their difficult battle.
Meet the talent
Producer - Wing-Yee Ngai
Hello, everyone calls me Winnie and I am the Producer of ‘Play With Fire’ Over the 3 years, I have produced promotional films, documentaries, dramas and TV programmes. I have recently worked on as Vision Mixer / Assistant on a theatre performance of ‘Kabaddi Kabaddi Kabaddi’ which was broadcasted live at the Mumford Theatre, Cambridge. With a keen interest and passion for Producing, I acknowledge the potential in this project that will contain elements that will capture the audience mind with the details from set design, cinematography and soundscape. I have a lot of faith in Danihl as a Director and Adam as a Cinematographer for their vision to make this film spectacular.
Director - Danihl Oikonomeas
My name is Danihl Oikonomeas and I am the director of Play With Fire. In this short film we will try to portray and explain Aidan's story. This will be a very interesting and challenging task as Aidan suffers from an impulsive control disorder, pyromania. Aidan is not an easily likeable character and that creates the challenge of making the audience empathise with him. On the other hand Gary, Aidan's probation officer is a man who has devoted his time and his energy to stopping young people from ruining their lives. He sees himself as a father figure, something that Aidan really hates, and their relationship develops. While reading the script I didn't know who's side to take and who did I really want to like up until the very end.
The past two and a half years I have worked in several productions including short films, TV- Shows, music videos and commercial spots, directing the majority of them. I hope that with your support we will manage to create our best project to date and we will manage to effectively tell this story about overcoming addiction.
Set Designer - Samantha Eagling
My name is Samantha Eagling and I am the set designer for ‘Play with Fire’. I am responsible for the overall look of the film. ‘Play With Fire’ is the perfect opportunity for me to put these skills into practice, bringing the story to life. My intentions are to produce an outcome, which reflects the seriousness of the main characters condition in a visually exciting way.
Costume Design - Hannah Erskine
Previously designed for the theatre productions 'His Dark Materials' and 'Oliver'. Working on this project is an exciting chance to work with a cleverly written script containing captivating characters and incredible depth of meaning. This is a film which will shock, astonish, and leave the audience wanting more. It is a short film packed full of things to get stuck into design wise, as each character has very unique but intriguing personalities I couldn't help but want to know more about. This film has in no way be taken down the easy route, with everyone involved optimistic, talented and full of enthusiasm. It's a pleasure to be involved.
