What is PERSONA?
PERSONA is a completely new concept in mobile entertainment. It's the world's first soap for smartphones, and we're planning to keep it going for many years. It's about the lives and loves of people just like you and me. Some of these people will be familiar, while others are hiding behind a persona of their own making.
How will it work?
You download the FREE app from the App Store or from the Android Market. You then get one 'appisode' of PERSONA delivered every weekday direct to your smartphone. It's a quick dose of daily entertainment that you can watch whenever you like, wherever you like.
Every day you get a notification that there's a new appisode available to watch. All you have to do is open the app and tap the new appisode. You can also watch any previous appisodes you might have missed by using our catch-up function.
Who will see it?
Because apps are available globally, people all over the world will be able to watch PERSONA. When we beta-tested it, people were downloading the app across Europe and North America, and even places like Estonia and the Philippines!
So you've already shot some of it?
Yes, we've shot Seasons 1 and 2 - that's over two months' worth of material. Filming in real locations across London, we've been able to assemble a fantastic team of cast and crew, who have worked extremely hard to very short deadlines in order to produce high-quality (and high-definition) entertainment which looks wonderful on the small screen.
Tell me about some of these people.
The team behind PERSONA is:
-
Don Allen (creator/director) - Originally from the Midlands, Don has already directed two feature films - Three Minute Moments and The Eighth Piece - with his production company All enQuiries Productions.
-
Sheena Holliday (director) - Sheena is a writer and director from Yorkshire, who has made three short films with her production company Crestfallen Productions.
-
Phillip Barron (story producer) - Phillip is an Eastbourne-based writer who has written for the BAFTA-nominated BBC3 production The Wrong Door. Six of the features he has written for have been produced, and another ten are in development.
Sounds good. What are you raising money for?
Experienced people in the industry have advised us that in order to attract commercial sponsorship we need to have finished three full seasons of material. We've funded the first two seasons out of our own pockets, but now we need your help in order to prove that the project is viable to sponsors.
But we don't just want to take the big money and run; we want to give something back to the industry. Because PERSONA is a long-term project, getting proper commercial sponsorship will enable us to be constantly bringing in new actors, new writers and new crew - helping them to give their international careers a boost.
In the meantime, all the money we raise from Sponsume will be spent on covering production costs for Season 3.
So how can I help?
