Help us bring free films to the community!
The New Cross and Deptford Free Film Festival is a community-led project that aims to celebrate film, fun and the local area. Inspired and aided by the people that brought you the amazing Peckham and Nunhead free film festivals, we are a group of local volunteers that are passionate about creating inspiring, interesting and free events in two of the most-exciting areas of London.
We have a ton of great activities planned and films to suit every taste. Highlights include:
- Bike-powered screenings of Pixar’s UP in Telegraph Hill Upper Park and Sherlock Holmes (as chosen by the kids of Deptford Green School) in Fordham Park
- An Alice in Wonderland garden party
- A live dream/film experiment on the ceiling of the Lewisham Art House
- Italian classic The Gospel According to St Matthew
- A cinematic celebration of freedom, held in the cells of a former police station
- Local short films and much, much more!
In order to get our festival off the ground we need your help. We have already secured £1,000 from funders, but to make our free film dreams a reality we need to raise a further £4,000 to cover security, equipment and facility costs. As the name suggests, all of the events are free and we are not hoping to make a profit from the festival. Backers will be rewarded and credited, so not only will you get the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that you have helped create something wonderful, but you will also get a little thank-you present from us.
