Hello!
I created this crowdfunding to help me get to the BP Portrait Award 2013, at the National Portrait Gallery! This is one of the most prestigious painting competitions in the world, and after thinking about it for the past 2 years I have decided to give it a go!
So if you like what I do, I really need your help!
This is a really exciting opportunity for me to develop my painting skills and get it out in the "portrait artists" world. My portrait will be a 1m x 1m portrait of my husband, as he needs to do sittings for me! I have named it "The PhD madness" and it portrays him with an anxious expression and a Stabilo highlighter to his head, to express the anxiety and stress a Phd student goes through! (you can see the beginning of this painting in the photo gallery)
Your financial contribution will help me to:
1/ Pay the entry fees for the exhibition
2/ Pay for the painting materials: canvas, paints, mediums, etc...
3/ Help me to promote my career and pay for the marketing and networking.

So here it is, my entry for the 2013 BP Portrait Award! I dropped the painting off yesterday, was kind of sad to let it go! I'll know on the 27th if it was shortlisted and will let you know! Thank you again for your support, I couldn't have done it without you.

Thank you so much for backing my project! Thanks to you, I have collected 90% of my target budget, which is amazing!
Here is the portrait so far, for your consideration! I have decided that a blue background was way better than a brown one, as it matches Aurelien's eyes and looks like an ink stain. I might change it to a darker hue later on. Apart from that, I mostly have the beard to add, and the rest of the face to continue working on.
So this is it, about 70%of it done now! Please feel free to give me some feedback.
I will update a photo as soon as I finish it!
