Ella and the Dragophant!
A brand new musical for children ages 5 - 8!
Ella is a creative young girl who is struggling with her parents' separation and with the taunts of a local bully, James. In a fit of frustration, Ella escapes into the strange, imaginary world of Transmagia, where she befriends a shy, mumbling creature called the Dragophant. Together, the two journey through Transmagia as Ella finds a way to face her fears and overcome her problems.
We're ready to take Ella and the Dragophant to the next level with a workshop in June - and you can help!
With your generous donations, we can spend three weeks developing the show in rehearsal with an experienced director and a dedicated cast of actors.
More importantly, we can workshop the show directly with a class of children from one school in Lewisham, one of the most deprived areas in the UK. The children will have a unique opportunity to help shape a piece of professional theatre, and to see their contributions come to life at our showcase performance in July!
Goldsmiths College, London have generously secured us the use of rehearsal facilities and a performance venue. We're currently waiting on an Arts Council grant to add to our budget, but it's by no means guaranteed and we still have funds to raise! We've come so far and we need your help to take us that crucial bit farther!
