We are a small campaign based in Brighton. We celebrate the beauty, power, pleasure and uniqueness of women's most secret body part, the Cunt.
We choose the word 'Cunt' because we have learnt of its varied roots and origins. It was once a word that was used in reverence and respect for women and is now the worst word in the english language. We feel that this word holds the key to the past; to a time where women were loved and accepted, exactly as they were, by themselves and others. Driven by our own ongoing personal journeys of shame and confusion to pleasure and liberation, we are dedicated to providing women with a safe space to talk, create and connect. We aim to counteract the messages from the media and mainstream pornography about how we should look or act as women and encourage conversations about the impacts this has had on our self love and esteem.

Above is an interview with Colette from a Cuntcraft exhibition we did in Brixton last year. Bare with it, at 1.00 she begins to talks about the campaign. We don't have money to make a proper video!
We have our studio in Brighton called 'The Cuntquarters' where we hold regular Cuntcraft Circles. This is when women come together to create their own piece of art to represent their love for themselves and their body. We have witnessed many beautiful moments where women have begun realise their own self worth and beauty. Sad stories are told about painful periods, rape, abortion, miscarriage, abuse and shame (lots of shame). Liberating stories are told too - about sexual pleasure, joyous births and pregnancies, premenstrual insights and happy bleeds. We also hold Mindful Menstruation Circles where we talk about PMS, fertility awareness, charting and celebrating our first period and we organise exhibitions and performances in public places in our local community.
We enjoy getting out onto the street and chatting to people about the campaign every week so we can continue to learn how to encourage women to join us. We make Cunt cupcakes and everyone has a giggle. Under the giggles, magic is happening....
We are now in a situation where we need help to grow and blossom.
It is our aspiration to become a Community Interest Company called 'Honesty' with the goal to empower and educate women and girls so that they can gain the autonomy and self love to make informed choices about their sexual health and mental well-being.
We want to provide truthful facts about contraception, menstruation, body image and sexual health in a fun and accessible way. We wish to create educational resources and distribute them for free to health clinics, youth groups and community centres. We also hope to run 8 week courses based on the resources.
We need money for our rent, bills and resources. We are asking for £900 which will cover our core costs for three months while we write funding bids for a bigger amount as a CIC.
