Shiny/Broke is a magazine which eulogises the old, and celebrates the new. We report on innovation and decline across all aspects of culture and current affairs; from news, art, science, politics and lifestyle. With humour, and an eye for news off the radar, we want to bring you a magazine that you'll want to keep; a certificate of promise, or of passing.
The magazine is the product of a group of trainee journalists in Goldsmiths College, and began life as a project on our MA course. But we're proud of the work we've produced, and want to share it with the world.
This is where we need your help. We'd like to produce a limited run of the magazine, to distribute for free. 100% of pledges go towards printing as many copies as we can, with the first 50 pledges over £7 receiving a collector's copy delivered directly to their door.
We've also been running a weekly prize draw which you are automatically entered into for a pledge of £3, and in our next draw we'll give away two tickets for notorious Canadian electronic music festival Mutek, which takes place in Bristol in September 2011.
To have a look at what we're all about, visit our blog, or follow us on twitter (@shinybroke). Any help you can offer us is really, really appreciated, and in return, we hope that we can offer you a magazine that'll you'll be torn between treasuring like a keepsake, and showing off to your friends.
We're still relatively new at this, but with your help, we hope we're not through just yet.
The owner of this project has not made any updates yet.
