World War III. Trapped underground with a sleep-inducing drug and a copy of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a company of soldiers fight to survive the terrifying reality of war as their grip on reality is put to the test.
THE SHOW
Premiering in London at the Press Play House in January 2013, Encompass Productions presents Who Is Moloch? - a surrealist drama taking place during the third world war. An uncompromising story of loss and transformation, this new play by Pamela Carralero uses the intertextuality of the Ammonite god Moloch and William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to simultaneously alleviate and demonstrate the toll of trauma upon the human psyche. Who Is Moloch? is a honest, unconventional play that consciously encourages audiences to risk being immersed in its world.
THE STORY
In the aftermath of a nuclear devastation that begins World War III, a company of soldiers barricade themselves underground with a sleep-inducing drug and a copy of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Awaiting orders as the world enters a terrifying nuclear age, tensions flare as the trauma of war takes its toll and their grip on reality is put to the test. As A Midsummer Night’s Dream sinks from the page into each soldier’s subconscious, their battle to survive the reality of war and come to terms with their experiences leads them to question: who is Moloch and what survives?

YOUR FUNDING
Who Is Moloch? is a wonderfully ambitious and innovative concept, one that we believe deserves as much as we can throw at it. Unfortunately such ambition does cost big! As an emerging company we can only fund so much ourselves, and we’ve had no luck with funding resources so far. Encompass is a long term endeavour and to do this we need your help!
All financial help will cover: Set, Props, Costumes, Transport hire, Publicity (Posters, Flyers, Programmes, etc.) and venue hire (this is our highest cost)
To show our endless gratitude we have some fantastic goodies to give you - all described in the information bar to the right! To claim your Show Tickets and/or Workshops please contact:

General Update!
It's been a busy month for the Encompass team! On the 3rd and 4th Jan we had our 24hr Sponsored StayAwake, where we participated in a number of challenges set by our sponsors and were tasked with staying awake (of course!) for a day. In that brutal 24hr session we raised over £200 for the show and racked up 511 views on our two webcams which streamed the whole thing live. The following week we had Shoot From The Hip! improvised comedy at The Horse, with a packed audience in tears of laughter. Last week we had Bare Essentials III: The Emerging Artist Showcase in which guest companies are asked to perform short pieces or extracts of their work. We at Encompass performed two pieces submitted by emerging writers Emma Minihan and Robert Wallis, had a surprise screening of our short film Stormin' Norman and previewed Who Is Moloch?. What's Peen Seen? was there to review the event and had quite a few positive things to say - you can click here for the review.
On top of all that Who Is Moloch? has been heavily rehearsing and the crew have been manically sorting out set, costume, props, press...everything! We've also been prepping the aforementioned launch party 'The Declaration' this Friday at Press Play House. See the attached flyer for all the details!
You've all been added to our mailing list so we can keep you up to date with the progress of the show and our future projects. Don't forget you can also join us atwww.facebook.com/EncompassOnline, and follow us on Twitter @WhoIsMoloch and @EncompassOnline!
