Who am I?
I am a Singer-Songwriter based in the City of Bath, UK. I am also a self-employed Music Teacher and Session Vocalist. I have always loved and had a flair for music! From childhood I've worked my way through orchestras, choirs and classical music grades in voice, piano and flute. I have led worship in churches since the age of 15 and I won a National Christian Songwriters Competition at the age of 17. In 2009 I received an Honours Degree in Commercial Music specialising in Performance and Songwriting. Life since then has been an exciting rollercoaster including going travelling and getting married, and I have finally found a new confidence in my creativity and my songwriting has flourished.
The time is finally here, and after a hugely productive year, a renewed vision, a wealth of new experience and revelation to write about, I have music to share with you!
What is this project?
In July I had the fantastic opportunity of spending a week in the Session Room Studios recording my Debut EP. For those of you that don't know, an EP or 'Extended Play' is basically a mini Album, mine will consist of 4 tracks. These 4 tracks are songs written and composed by me, and with the help of some amazing musician friends they have been arranged and recorded.
I am undertaking this project as an independent artist on a tight budget. Making a professional sounding recording, producing a high-quality physical product, all without the help or funding of a record label is expensive. I have kept my costs as low as possible and a lot has already been covered but there are still some big steps left to take before you can hear this EP.
I need to raise a minimum of £1500 to cover the final costs involved with this project.
What costs have already been covered?
- The Studio recording, producing and mastering costs
- Website and Graphic Design
- Photos
- Hours and hours put into writing/rehearsing/organising (by myself and my musicians)
What will your money pay for?
- The physical production of the EP
- Costs involved with making the EP available in the major online stores
- Booking/organising/promoting for an EP launch gig
- Paying my musicians
How does this 'Sponsume' thing work?
Sponsume is a 'crowd funding' website. Over 60 days you will have the opportunity to pledge an amount you'd like to give towards my total. On the right of this page you will find a list of all the rewards I will be giving away in return for your pledges.
After 60 days, when my target amount has been met or exceeded, I will receive your pledge money and production can begin.
You will receive your rewards on or around the EP launch date - I am aiming for the end of October, beginning of November.
What rewards are available?
All the details of rewards can be found on the right of this page.
- Pick the reward you would like or the amount you would like to pledge.
- The rewards available range all the way from £1 to £125. Just £5 will get you a copy of the EP!
- You can give any amount you like towards my total even if it includes rewards you don't really want. You are entitled to all the rewards included in your pledge amount so even if you don't want them, you can give those rewards away to a friend if you like :)
Please Note: £1500 is the minimum amount I need to raise. There is no maximum and you will able to keep pledging even if I reach this £1500 before the 60 days is up. Great!
When will you receive your rewards?
Rewards will be delivered to you in a variety of ways, depending on the reward and where you live. I will use...
- Royal Mail delivery - for delivering physical rewards to those I won't see (P&P included)
- Hand Delivery - for delivering physical rewards to those I will see
- Email - to deliver downloadable rewards such as Chord/Lyric and MP3 downloads
- If you will be attending my EP launch Gig then you can also collect your rewards then
- Singing lessons, Songwriting Opportunities and Live Performance rewards will be arranged with you by email
Any Questions?
If you have any questions left unanswered or would like a clearer explanation of anything above then please do not hesitate to contact me either by leaving a comment on this page or send an email to...
