The Mind's Wood

Leeds, United Kingdom
FUNDED

The Mind's Wood is a story about a boy who escapes reality and enters his imagination to find out who he really is. But can he listen to his inner wishes and become the man he feels he should be?

The team involved in creating this film are a dedicated and experienced group who have come together to turn a wonderful story into a magical short film full of artistic creativity. A blend of surreal characters and a combination of live action and stop motion gives this film the magical feeling of childhood wonder that resonates with all ages.

Everyone involved in making this film has really become attached to the script and are caring and passionate about the project as if it was their own.

With your help we can complete this fun and fantastical adventure and fulfil our passion to give you a beautiful story of a boy lost and found in his own imagination.

Director - David JR Bond

Dave has a background in stop motion and graphic design and his vision and creative drive are the main force behind this film. Dave likes beige food, pina coladas and dancing in the sunshine. He's all about the hips. He's in charge of making this the best short-fantasy-family-adventure-coming-of-age film you ever did see.

Producer - Ben Saffer

Ben has worked one films all across Europe, he keeps everyone on time, likes making lists and is allergic to hessian (or so he says) so won't be helping decorate the trees. He also likes cheese, Woody Allen and making lists (did I say that already?). He's in charge of getting everything done on time, on budget and then making sure loads of people get to see the amazing finished film. He's also in charge of writing lists.

Director of Photography - Vladut Grajdan

Vlad is an incredibly talented up and coming DoP having worked on films both in the UK and his native Romania. He likes lenses, lights, spaghetti, and having hair like Wim Wenders. He's in charge of making the film look utterly beautiful.

Art Director - Bunty May Marshall

Bunty is famous around Leeds for her amazing cakes, handmade dresses and general loveliness. She's created some incredible sets and costumes for photoshoots, music videos and other performances and she likes teacups, cool fabrics and finding amazing things in the back of charity shops. She's in charge of sewing, gluing, cutting, pasting and generally making all the sets and costumes look incredibly fantastical and completely unique.
