Crowdfunding

ScreenStation is a collective organisation producing and promoting independent film. http://www.screenstation.net
Since we began in 2000 we have curated screenings, produced both short and feature length documentaries and created content for dozens of different organisations. Our work has an international focus and is built on collaborations with a wide range of artists, activists and agencies.
We want to grow our network, expand our events beyond London and get more films finished, which is why we've launched this campaign. This is our first crowd-funding project and we hope it won't be the last. But ScreenStation is not just an online thing. It's the events, screenings of work we make, and work that inspires us that keeps the energy going.
The revived Mwalimu Express has been chugging along in London for a year now and is gathering speed - we have more Rich Mix events and some touring dates in the summer. We'd like to bring Mwalimu Express to Newcastle, and we're open to other offers too. We've finished a TV doc, we've got 2 feature docs on the go, plus the re-launch of As Old As My Tongue to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the first interview with Bi Kidude's (on her 103rd birthday).
So it's busy, and this is hopefully the first step in making sure it can stay busy and get busier. Please do contribute whatever you can, and then tell us what else we should be doing. It's great to have your support.
Ahsante, gracias, mazvita and obrigado everyone.
Andy
and as a special bonus - if you contribute this week - we'll send you the password to watch the full original award winning festival version of As Old As My Tongue.
