Impulse Collective are an emerging professional theatre company challenging the modern boundaries of theatre to create new and exciting work.
They combined during their Actor training at The School of The Arts, Northampton University in May 2011 and formed professionally from September 2012.
Creating fast paced theatre, their work is described as 'fragmented and intriguing, fused together with strong ensemble movement sequences'. The collective use large amounts of Verbatim, Comedy, Autobiography and Projection, which is often used in experimental ways.
As well as National Touring, Impulse Collective are also dedicated to talent development within young and vulnerable people. They tour one of their current productions 'Riot' to schools and youth centres in the East Midlands as well as curating workshops for colleges and young deaf people. They recently worked with New Perspectives Artistic Director, Jack Mcnamara, to workshop and create a new children's show based on the writings of Tagore for future touring.
Impulse Collective are currently Supported by, and are based at the Icon Innovation Centre in Daventry where they devise, rehearse, and create workshops. They are also the apprentice company of Redbridge Drama Centre and have just finished working at Curve Theatre in Leicester after being selected to be a part of their first ever Scratch Programme.
They are Supported & mentored by New Perspectives Theatre Company as part of the STEP UP Companies scheme 2013
