I've been an actor for over twenty years, working in film, television and theatre. I started to become really disillusioned with the sort of parts availalbe for women, particularly as they got older. So I set up Big Buddha Films and started to make my own films with strong female roles. I am currently a writer, director and producer.
Although I've received no official funding to date, I've managed to make some really good short films so far, that have screened at film festivals all over the world and won several awards and nominations. I am currently writing my first feature film.
I live in Sheffield with my teenage children. I have a great set of very talented and creative friends with whom I collaborate regularly. These include fim makers, actors, graphic designers, singers, and musicians. Between us we manage to make small miracles out of next to nothing, and I'm so appreciative of their help and involvement in my previous films.
