About the project

13th Theatre Co believes that what is inside a person is more important than the outside. We are social enterprise and we are planning our first social enterprise musical for 2012. 

The project will raise the profiles of social enterprises who take part in the musical. Also local charities who deal with the social issues of disability and bullying will benefit from the project. 13th Theatre Co is a social enterprise theatre company and we are planning the UK’s first social enterprise musical. 

The musical is being written by the creative team of Beatrix Forbes (composer) and Sheila Costello (writer). Its working title is ‘Lily at Oxford’ and it tells the story of a young girl’s adventures in the city of Oxford. It will also be the first musical based on the sights and sounds of Oxford. 

You may ask why is this the first social enterprise musical, well that is because we aim to have other social enterprises working in partnership with us, like Oxford Wood Recycling and Blastbeat. 

A percentage of the profits will go to local charities. The aim is for the musical to be performed in Oxford annually and then for there to be smaller touring versions.
