In the summer of 2011, we, Welsh actor Aimee Corbett and London actor Vanessa Hammick, teamed up to embark on a 200 mile hobby-horse ride with trusty steeds Marmalade and Marley.

Tipping the wink and blinkers for 17 days, we trotted and galloped along the old drovers’ routes from Mid-Wales to London, inviting stories from those we met on the way. We collected over 200 stories!

Now thanks to Shakespeare Link offering us a residency, we in collaboration with musician Ellen Jordan and director Ian Yeoman are transforming our journey into a beguiling performance; 'Now.Here'. This performance shares tales of boundaries and borders, long time lovers, gun owners, grannies and angry young men.

We are taking the show to Edinburgh Festival from the 15th- 26th August 2.05pm at Laughing Sisters.

To pull this off we need your help…we are seeking funding for our travel and production costs. We have devised a range of hobby-horse related rewards to make it more fun; so why not sponsor a hobby-horse for us today?!

£35.00 or more : For the very generous gift of £35 we can provide a hobby horse with a full MOT; ensuring they are roadworthy and free of splinters. For this very kind gift, you will get a certificate and photo, and a thank you on our website!

 

Own a Hobby Horse

£50.00 or more : £50 is enough to pay to take a hobby horse to Edinburgh, where it can learn about the curious ways of it's ancestors; the Highland ponies. Incidentally, it will also pay for a 'Cello to get all the way to Edinburgh; which could come in very handy for our show! For this very kind gift, we will send you your own miniature hobby horse- a little one you can put on the end of your biro. Amuse your colleagues as you gallop between the coffee machine and the photocopier- neigh!

 

Be a hobby horse jockey!

£100.00 or more : £100 is enough to train a jockey in proper hobby horse handling tehniques (Corbettelli Method). For this very generous and kind gift, you will receive all of the above, and a special signed poster for the production.
