Backing a project

Here’s how it works at a glance:

  1. Browse through our projects
  2. Pick one you like
  3. Sponsor it by buying vouchers, or share it with friends
  4. Sit back, relax and enjoy the rewards that come with the vouchers

Why do people buy vouchers?

Projects listed on www.Sponsume.com need to offer attractive discounts and rewards in order to reach their funding targets and become reality.

So whatever the project, sponsors get themselves a bargain.

Sponsors also make the project happen - as proceeds from the sale of the vouchers fund the project.

How does the funding work?

Each project comes with a funding target and a funding deadline.

By buying vouchers, you contribute to funding the project. There are 2 possible outcomes:

  1. The project reaches its funding target within the timeframe. In this case, the project receives the full amount and goes ahead.
  2. The project fails to reach its funding target. In that case, the project does not get funding and sponsors get their money back.

What do I get for my voucher?

Each project brings its own unique rewards. And vouchers act like pre-orders for the product or service that will be produced when the project goes live.

For some projects your voucher might offer an attractive discount on the proposed product. For others it might be a free gift, or exclusive VIP treatment.

Every one is different... To find out what’s on offer for each project, check its project page.

How do I buy vouchers?

Go to the project page of your choice and click on one of the vouchers on the right hand side. It’s that simple.

Sponsume uses Paypal as its payment gateway. This means you can safely use your credit, debit card or your Paypal account.

Sponsume does not retain your card details.

So Sponsume is not about investing?

That’s right, buying a voucher does not constitute an investment.

Sponsume does NOT offer any equity, or any ownership rights, in the projects listed. Project owners retains 100% ownership and control of their project at all times!

When you buy a voucher, the project owner enters into a contract with you. The project owner agrees to offer the specified reward, discount or product to you once the project has received full funding.

Does Sponsume charge anything?

No, we don’t charge anyone for using our services.

Do I get any recognition for backing projects on the website?

Yes, your sponsor profile will be shown on the project’s backers page.

Can projects be shared on other sites and social networks?

Yes. Use the sharing widgets on each page to share the project of your choice with your friends, family and colleagues.

This is a great way of helping projects gather enough support!

What happens if I buy a voucher, but the project doesn’t reach its funding target?

You get your money back.

Sponsume doesn’t charge anything for that (although Paypal may).

Can I buy several vouchers at once?

Yes, bulk orders are as easy to place as single voucher purchases.

Can I cancel my voucher purchase?

Yes. Please refer to the terms of use for details.

Is there any risk?

While Sponsume makes every effort to ensure that project owners honour their commitments, the contract is between project owners and their sponsors.

Sponsume is only platform and project owners are fully responsible for delivering the promised rewards.

To encourage project owners to deliver their rewards in time, Sponsume retains a 12.5% deposit of the total funds collected. The deposit is only payable to project owners upon delivery of the promised rewards to their sponsors.

In addition to losing their deposit, project owners who fail to fulfil their obligations expose themselves to damage to their reputation and credit rating, fines, and may face legal action.
