After the sucess of my first piece of 3D textural science art at the In Braille Exhibition at Centre Arts in Cheltanham I have been asked to produce another piece.  Science art is art that shows the awe and inpiration as well as the majesty and beauty of the world of science, it brings accessiblity to those who feel they can not understand science - the piece I am aiming to make is interactive with both textural and audible elements.

The cave is to show the structures and sounds of nature - using my geological training I aim to create a caveate of textures and stimuli. I already have one scientist collaborator who is providing me with the sounds of slime moulds moving in response to light.  I would like to collect other such examples of natures sounds to use.

The electornic components to make this possible are outside of my normal art budget so I am asking for £150 to cover these and a few other material costs.  Money raised by the piece will go towards paying for workshops for various disabilities groups.

I am also in the early stages of planning a Science-Art exhibition next year with a local gallery - so ideally I would like to raise as much as possible.

The owner of this project has not made any updates yet.
